COVID-19 RESPONSE

DD’s Engineering has been closely monitoring the situation regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  With the situation surrounding COVID-19 evolving so quickly, we are taking proactive precautions to protect the Health and Safety of our workforce and our customers to reduce the possibility that our ability to supply is impacted.

Like most businesses, we have implemented protocols to limit and minimise social interactions and reinforce hygiene practices known to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

We ask for our customer to ring before arrival on 02 6752 6274, once arrive our staff will meet you at the front of the office or you can go directly to our pick up/unloading bay if you have any collections of our products. Also, the steel in our yard is safe, however with any orders from our supplies there will be a quarantine of 24hrs before pick up, but with stainless steel order it will be at least 72hrs. DD’s still offering deliveries of $20 in town.

There will be no access to workshop only for staff members and the 4m2 rules applies to staff members in the office.

We have introduced protocols to restrict business travel, including requirements for our workforce to be quarantined for 14-days after international travel in line with Australian Government requirements. All arrivals into or from Queensland must self-isolate for 14 days, unless you have an exemption.

Exemptions will be made for all our border communities - Mungindi, Boggabilla, Toomelah and Bonshaw - as well as for urgent medical appointments, health service workers, transport and freight industry, education, repair and maintenance crews, mining energy and agricultural industry workers and produce.

In an effort to minimise risk to our employees, sub-contractors and customers, DD’s has implemented the below in conjunction with advice from WHO & Department of Health (DoH) to combat the risk of Coronavirus:

  • Wash hands frequently with soap & water for a minimum of 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand rub.

  • Practice respiratory hygiene when coughing and sneezing, cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – discard tissue immediately into a closed bin and clean your hands as per above.

  • Maintain social distancing by upholding at least 1.5m distance between yourself and other people.

  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with your hands as you can transfer the virus from surfaces to yourself.

  • Avoid shaking hands or touching other person/s.

  • We recommend you minimise any non-essential domestic or international travel.

  • Where possible reduce face to face meetings to phone hook ups, if meetings are required, only have the essential person/s in attendance.

  • Avoid large gatherings, particularly indoors.

  • Toolbox talks are to be held outside.

  • When conditions permit, open doors and windows to let fresh air in.

  • No non-essential visitor/s to site.

  • Ensure EFTPOS machine is wiped down after each use.

I reiterate that at present the COVID-19 virus has not materially impacted the supply of any of our products. Based on the measures DD’s has put in place, we are confident our high service levels will be maintained. Should this situation change and our supply become materially impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, we will communicate this to affected customers.

For now, it is business as usual for us. We have no reported confirmed cases of COVID-19 associated with our employees or their families. Our priority remains to be the health and safety of our employees, sub-contractors and customers. In line with this, our second priority is to remain open for essential businesses and to continue to provide livelihoods for our employees, subcontractors, customers and their families

We all have a role to play in responding and limiting the spread of this virus. By working together, calmly and with purpose, we are committed to delivering a quality customer service, safely and responsibly.
